Teacher Lynda - Early Childhood Educator
Lynda became interested in working with children as a teenager when she worked at a Before and After School Program. Once she had children she ran a Family Daycare in her home for 6 years, providing care for children ages 1 – 8 years old. While caring for children in her home Lynda took the Family Daycare Certificate Program.
Lynda has a long history with Hillview starting with enrollment of her daughter in 1996. She loved the preschool environment so much that she decided to become an Early Childhood Educator. She began working at Hillview in 1998 as the Assistant Teacher.
Lynda strongly believes in a learn through play environment where the children and adults learn together. Her passion for play-based learning is demonstrated daily in the classroom through activities and the general setup of the room. Children respond well to her gentle approach, and therefore feel excited coming to preschool. Lynda has accumulated more than 200 hours by supplementing her education with workshops to keep her current in Early Childhood.
Lynda is a well respected and committed teacher who has received several awards from The Council of Parent Participation Preschool in BC for Appreciation and Commendation. Over the years Lynda has enjoyed learning and growing with the children and families. Her attention to providing a safe and positive environment shows throughout the program.
